The verdict
Under a sixteenth-century Ottoman dome in the morning, in a rooftop pool over the Danube at night.
Go on Friday night
On Fridays and Saturdays the bath reopens from ten at night until three. Take the panorama pool first: 36°C water, the Danube below you, Elisabeth Bridge lit up at the end of the street.
Then go down to the Turkish bath, under the Ottoman dome. It's the oldest room you'll sit in all week.
Why this one
Gellért, the famous bath at the other end of the hill, is closed for now. Rudas has the Ottoman pool under the dome, a panorama pool, a plunge pool, a sauna world, a bistro and a café.
It also publishes every ticket price, including the night ones.

Mon 06:00 to 22:00, Tue to Sun 06:00 to 20:00, plus Fri and Sat nights 22:00 to 03:00. The Turkish bath is single-sex on weekdays; check the day before you go. Towels aren't included; you can buy one there.
