The Rome Cavalieri's spa club on Monte Mario: in spring and summer, non-guests can buy a day at the outdoor pools, with a towel, a lounger and a pool café.
Take a summer weekday by the pool
Weekdays cost €110 against €150 at weekends and on holidays, towel and lounger included. Loungers can't be booked ahead. One couple spent a quiet Monday there.
Lunch is at the pool café. The indoor spa, with its Roman baths and indoor pool, is listed for hotel guests at €50 a day; the site names no entry for visitors.
Why this one

You are in Rome in late autumn or winter: the outdoor pools close, and the site lists no visitor entry to the indoor spa. El Spa in Prati, 2.1 km away, has a traditional hammam. Two guests also call the spa old.

Before you go
Open daily 7:00 to 22:00; the outdoor pools open in spring and summer, weather permitting, and close in late autumn and winter. The spa is for over-16s; children may use the pools with a parent. Pool slippers or shoe covers and a bathrobe are required in the reception, corridor and café.
