Five Rome spas with heat and water, from a hilltop pool club to a hammam in the east

Rome once lived in its public baths, but few places in the city still let you sit in hot water. These five have steam, a sauna, a pool or a whirlpool, at least 1.5 km apart. The Cavalieri is a summer pick: its outdoor pools close in late autumn and winter.
