The verdict
Swim at rooftop height, then lie on warm marble under a ceiling of small lights while someone scrubs the city off you.
Go at five
Swim in the rooftop pool as the light goes over the old city's roofs, then go down to the hammam: steam, the belly stone warm under your back, the foam, the scrub.
When you step back onto the street, the Grand Bazaar, ten minutes' walk away, is closing for the day.
Why this one
Here the hammam shares a roof with a rooftop pool, an indoor pool, a sauna, a steam room and a roof terrace. A bar serves the pool and terrace, and spa guests can order food. Beethoven Premium Spa, 140 metres away, has more reviews (4.9 from 1,695) and its own pool and jacuzzi, but no terrace or bar.
Acemoğlu Hamamı, 60 metres away, is older (it dates from the reign of Mehmed the Conqueror) and has its own pool and jacuzzi. It has no terrace and no bar, which is why Rise comes first on our rules.

Before you go
Open daily 10:00 to 23:00, massages from 12:00; book on WhatsApp or the website. Your hammam session is private; the sauna, steam room and pool are shared by women and men. Towels, a peştemal and slippers are provided, and a swim cap, required in the pool, costs €5.
