Singapore: five places for heat and ice, from an Aufguss club to a Japanese onsen
Singapore has no bath tradition of its own. Its natural hot spring at Sembawang, found in 1909, is a public park; the city's heat now comes from a new wave of sauna-and-ice clubs and from one Japanese onsen spa. None carries our Ritual tag.
We chose five, at least 1.5 km apart. Two strong clubs lost out on distance: The Ice Bath Club in Duxton sits about 1.2 km from Sauna Bath House, and its River Valley branch about 700 metres from Reva. Shelter, the members-only sauna club, sells no single entry, so it does not count.
