Prague: four private saunas, and why the beer tub doesn't count
Prague's own bathing tradition is the river. A civic swimming place opened on the Vltava in 1840, and the Žluté lázně river baths in Podolí in 1910; today one is a protected building and the other a beach. None of our picks draws on that, so none carries our Ritual tag.
What the city sells instead is the beer spa: a private room, a tub of hops, yeast and malt, and beer on tap. Under our rules a tub filled for a treatment is part of the treatment, so the beer bath earns no water point. A whirlpool or a cold pool in a private wet room is a facility and does count; each place below passes on those and the sauna.
We chose four, at least 1 km apart. Malá Strana and Vinohrady have no pick. Original Beer Spa, rated 4.7 from 1,084 reviews, lost to Bernard nearby because we could not read prices on its own site.
