The verdict
Private sauna cabins on a Hackney rooftop, booked by groups of up to four, with shared cold plunge tubs and, two guests say, views over London.
Book the long session
The 60- and 90-minute sessions come with a private cool-down room: a mini-bar, tea and coffee, essential oils and skin-care botanicals.
Off-peak means a weekday session starting before 16:00, and four people pay less per head than one. For a birthday or a group of friends, that is the way to book it.
Why this one
Nothing else in Hackney passed our rules. Banya No.1, 2.7 km west in Hoxton, is the place for steam and treatments; Lowlu, in Kentish Town, has more saunas.
Rooftop Saunas is the private option: your own cabin for up to four, prices by group size on its own site, and the city around you from the roof.

Skip it if
You are on your own and want it cheap: one person pays £20 for 30 minutes off-peak and £45 for an hour at peak. Lowlu in Kentish Town charges £10 to £15.50 a session.
