Amsterdam: four places to sweat, and the Dutch sauna rule to know first
In the Netherlands, public saunas are mixed and nude as a rule; some set aside women-only or swimwear hours. Each page below says which rule applies, so read it before you book.
We chose four, at least 1 km apart. A 1920s interior on the Herengracht, a sauna club on the water in Noord, a Thai massage house with a sauna, and a recovery centre in the Zuidas. The Jordaan and Oost have no pick, and Spa Zuiver sits under our rating line at 3.8.
